Doesn't effect performance of hoses. One I taped, one didn't. The product is a CPS model AM134BUQ Manifold and Gauge Set designed for auto AC use R134a. Most likely China.

Vinyl cover on two of the hoses has small crack near crimp fitting. Used only once. This worked just fine, holds pressure, does the job. Suitable for DIY.
